My parents bought our first Mac somewhere in 1988 I guess. It was a very happy <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Macintosh_SE\" target=\"_blank\">Macintosh SE<\/a> and I actually still have him sitting on my desk!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/macSE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2485\" alt=\"macSE\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/macSE-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/macSE-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/macSE-120x90.jpg 120w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/macSE-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The main purpose of the Mac (and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ImageWriter#ImageWriter_II\" target=\"_blank\">StyleWriter II<\/a> printer) was for my mom to do the bookkeeping for our local store. But, I mostly remember the fun we had playing with applications as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MacPaint\" target=\"_blank\">MacPaint<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MacDraw\" target=\"_blank\">MacDraw<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MacWrite\" target=\"_blank\">MacWrite<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/HyperCard\" target=\"_blank\">Hypercard<\/a> and of course the games. There was a Mac community club in the Benelux called Mactivity, and they&#8217;d mail a bunch of disks every two months with new utilities, fonts, sounds, icons, programs, games and so. For years this was the only way we got new stuff to run on the Mac!<\/p>\n<p>Going down the memory lane, I went on YouTube and Wikipedia today to check some of the epic games we played for hours\u00a0and hours on that small black and white screen.
