Unfortunately I don&#8217;t have access yet, and there is also not that much material available on this product, but enough to at least get an idea of the purpose and direction. So let&#8217;s have a look.<\/p>\n<p>It is common for an\u00a0organization to have multiple places or platforms to\u00a0host reports. Even within SAP-only environments we see this: BI Launchpad, Fiori Launchpad,\u00a0Analytics Cloud, BEx Web. At my current project we positioned and setup the\u00a0BI Launchpad for this, but we had to use a bunch of workarounds and have to live with all the limitations of the\u00a0tool.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/24c_pSSALSA?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Looking at\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sap.com\/content\/dam\/website\/roadmaps\/en_us\/analytics\/SAP%20Analytics%20Hub%20Road%20Map.pdf\">roadmap<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/documents\/2017\/05\/a20a1d5c-bc7c-0010-82c7-eda71af511fa.html#\">FAQ<\/a> files, I see that the initial version is basically a web-based portal that contains a bunch of links to reports. These links point either to cloud or on-premise solutions, and this can be both SAP as well as non-SAP software. Each link may contain some\u00a0additional information and a preview of the report.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3227\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3-1024x483.png\" alt=\"sapanalyticshub3\" width=\"1024\" height=\"483\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3-1024x483.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3-150x71.png 150w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3-300x141.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3-768x362.png 768w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3-50x25.png 50w, https:\/\/www.hackingsap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapanalyticshub3.png 1870w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Within the Hub the user can find his\u00a0reports via selections in structures or keywords\u00a0(facets),\u00a0or via text search. I see a lot more customization and personalization options, better integration of the existing SAP platforms and very interestingly: a public API. This could mean that third-parties like Tableau and Microsoft\u00a0are allowed to write their own add-ons for the Hub, to integrate their reporting platforms in the Hub. Can we for example use existing setups in SAP BW and\/or the BI Platform for this, or will the Hub have its own separate user management.
